Two Olympic Records broken in this morning’s session

Park Kyung Mo left no chance to his opponent from Belarus, 20-year old Anton Prylepav in their quarterfinal match. Young Prylepav stood up to Park in a good match, but he finally had to acknowledge defeat before a strong Korean who set a brand new 18-arrow Olympic Record with 173 points (previous being 172).

After his great performance – he hit the 10-ring twelve times! - Park said he wanted to stay focused: "I am very happy with my score. My aim is to win the gold medal." Park was the Individual World Champion in 1993. His score of 173 brings the men’s 18-arrow Olympic record level with the women’s record which was equaled by Yun Mi Jin on Tuesday.

One archer who has given a very strong impression so far is Chen Szu Yuan from the Chinese Taipei. After shooting 170 on Tuesday in his 1/16 final match with an amazing seven 10s in a row, Chen added a 169-point 1/8 round to set another new Olympic Record of 36-arrow Elimination Combined (1/16 & 1/8) Olympic Record. With a total of 339, he beat the previous record by three points.
