Olympics’ most incredible streak still possible…

Greek archer Evangelia Psarra took a step forward in her medal quest at the Panathinaiko Stadium this morning. She won her 1/16 Elimination match with the Spanish Almundena Gallardo on the score of 160-152. "I am very happy and I am still on course for my target which is to win a medal. I am feeling very strong", said Psarra after her victory.

She will, however, take a tough test this afternoon, as her next opponent is nobody less than top seed and 2001 World Champion Park Sung Hyun from Korea. "My personal best is 169 and I believe that I can beat her. I don’t think that there is a big gap between us and even if I don’t win I am sure it will be an exciting match", the young Greek commented.

At every Olympic Games since Moscow in 1980, the host nation has won at least one gold medal. Psarra is Greece’s only remaining hope of maintaining this tradition. Appointment with history is made for late afternoon…
