Chinese Xue Haifeng shoots 162 in spite of wind
The Chinese archer Xue Haifeng easily progressed to the next stage of Men’s competition, as he shot 162 points in his 1/32 match against Mexican Jorge Pablo Chapoy (153 points). Xue’s score is today’s best score so far.

US archer, Vic Wunderle, took advantage of his Indian opponent’s substandard performance, beating 22nd ranked Sawaiyan Majhi on a 145-128 score. "I am satisfied with my performance and my victory. There were some problems with the wind but that’s part of the game", Wunderle said.

Vic Wunderle gave his impressions on the venue after shooting his first match in the historic stadium: "I visited Panathinaiko Stadium many years ago and I couldn’t imagine that in the future I would have had the opportunity to compete at this venue. It’s a unique moment for me and I am very proud to be here."

No surprise in the confrontation between Ukrain’s Dmytro Hrachov and Egypt’s Maged Youssef. The 6th ranked Ukrainian easily won his face to face match by 154 to 128.

The 1/32 round of Ken Uprichard (NZL) and Liu Ming Huang (TPE) was surprisingly tight. The archer from Chinese Taipei eventually beat New Zealander 148-145.
