Korea’s One Slip Korea has won black spot on its brilliant Olympic record: it has never won the men’s individual title. It will enter Athens as Olympic and world team champions, but its trio of men’s archers will be very eager to win a first individual title. The likely hero is Im Dong Hyun, just 18, who won the Olympic Test Event at the Olympic venue in August, 2003. Im was runner-up to Italy’s Michele Frangilli at the 2003 worlds and was part of Korea’s world champion team. He will be joined in Athens by Park Kyung Mo, 28, a 1993 individual world champion, and Jang Yong Ho, 28, a member of Korea’s gold medal team in Sydney. Both Park and Jang were 2003 world team champions also. 16.06.2004 / Travis Cranley |
